Although General Educational Development classes and Adult Basic Education classes both serve adults, they have different goals and may serve different populations. Under the authority of both the Rector and the Academy Director, the General Secretary of the Academy is in charge of administrating the Academy’s primary and secondary education in matters concerning schools, junior and senior high schools, training and management of staff working in them, and adult education.
The Certificate III in General Education for Adults is approximately equivalent to Year 11 for the purposes of applying for a TAFE course and will meet the entry requirements for most Certificate II, III, IV or Diploma level TAFE courses. The School of Adult & General Education faculty and staff help students develop the academic, work, and life skills necessary for success.
