The National Adult Literacy Study (NALS) was ultimately established by the Bush administration, and in published a report that confirmed the fact that there was a problem with the literacy rate in a country that had always considered itself nearly % literate. Adult Literacy Advocates of Greater Baton Rouge is an organization founded on inclusivity, building strength through knowledge for all who walk through our doors. We will not waver from this mission of inclusion and education. For too many of our students, unjust barriers have resulted in deferred dreams.

Library Literacy Friends, Inc. Library Literacy Friends, Inc. is an organization comprised of volunteers, students, and other concerned community members who recognize the basic literacy needs of adults in our community. The Chicago Citywide Literacy Coalition strengthens and champions neighborhood adult education programs that serve people with low literacy skills. We provide programs, funding, training, and networking opportunities to organizations to better serve the unmet needs of people in their communities.
